What happens to my car when it's in for a service?
First You'll arrive into our inviting reception area which features a shop for car essentials, accessories and tech. Once your car has been checked in it will be handed over to one of our highly skilled mechanics who will bring the vehicle into our workshop.
Once your vehicle is in, we will then start by checking over componants as part of your service such as suspension, breaks and steering. We also check tyres and lights. This is a check we offer free with any service and is part of our Safe Car campaign. Our aim not only is to not only keep your car is peak condition but keep you safe at the same time. A coil spring is a main component in your suspension set up pushing your vehicle away from the road, cushioning bumps and pot holes and also, keeping the body of your vehicle separated from your wheels and tyres. This coil had broke and was fractured in another area. Not only dangerous but also if this hadn't been caught as part of our complimentary check, the results of damage would not only have meant more down time and the car being off the road again but also damage to tyres, other components and even meant the driver could be stranded unable to move the vehicle should it have broke any further on the vehicle.
Once we have done our first check over we then move on to brakes. We check the discs, pads, break shoes if your vehicle has them, drums and break pipes. We also check copper pipes and any points where break pipes could rub. When your breaks leak, it can cause devastating effects so we always check over these with great care. We also inspect the master and slave cylinder. These are also key components in your breaking system.
As you can see, this vehicle has corroded discs and the pads didn't have much left on them. once we stripped off the old pads and discs, we wire brushed the carrier and checked the calliper seals. Internally, your break calliper has a piston which pushes out when you press your brake. We ensure the calibers are in good a good state ready to be re fitted. Once we re fitted the new discs and pads. the car looked visually better, but thats noting to how good the breaking system become on the vehicle. Much safer!
