More light on dark nights
Upgrading your bulbs can improve nighttime driving and many of our customers who drive for a living, or commute each week, choose this as an option to improve their driving experience. This can help with hazards on dark nights, especially with harsh driving conditions found in wintertime. The Xenon Ultima from Ring Automotive offers the latest advancements in filament technology and puts up to 120% more light on the road compared to a standard halogen bulb. Xenon Ultima produces a beam pattern that is up to 60m longer, which enables other drivers to be seen more clearly, as well as giving you more time to react to potential hazards, whether you're driving on the motorway or country roads. Upgrading your bulbs can also improve your driving experience and safety as you can gain better visibility of road signs and ground markings. At The FastFit Centre, we understand the importance of our customers having the most comfortable and safe driving experiences, and we regularly upgrade bulbs on commercial vehicles, as well as family cars. Checking your bulbs
We recommend that our customers check all of the lights on their vehicles on a regular weekly basis. This is especially important if you drive often at night and on the darker nights in wintertime. Here are some of our simple checks to help you: Headlamps should be cleaned and wiped over to remove dirt and debris. This provides a maximum light output. Dirt on a headlamp unit can cause refraction of the light which can lead to glare for other road users. Similarly, in winter conditions, you should clean any snow off your lights before starting your journey so that other drivers can see you clearly. It's common sense but often in our busy lives, we can skip these essential maintenance checks. Faulty bulbs or blown bulbs never come at a convenient time, but checking your bulbs as often as you valet or clean your car, can help you to notice when your bulbs need changing Ask a friend or family member to help you check brake lights (and indicator lights) by looking at the lights while you press the brake pedal and flick your indicators on and off respectively. Doing this simple check will show bulbs that have failed and need to be replaced immediately. It’s not always obvious when a bulb blows, for example, sidelight bulbs are not always visible when your headlights are on. If visibility seems poor or other road users flash their lights at you, check your bulbs are working correctly as they may be trying to warn you about bulb failure. If you can hear one of your indicators blinking faster than usual, it means there is a fault or the indicator bulb has blown. You should try to rectify this as soon as possible as other road users won’t be able to see you turning. You should try to replace your bulbs in pairs. If a bulb has blown and it is one of a pair of lights replacing both will give consistent light output.
