What is a Wet Belt?

A wet belt (or "belt-in-oil") is a modern timing belt design that runs inside the engine, lubricated by engine oil. Unlike traditional dry timing belts, wet belts are quieter and often last longer—however, they can deteriorate over time if not changed at the correct interval. Failure to replace a worn wet belt can cause major engine damage and costly repairs.
