At The Fastfit Centre, We offer three service packages for Ducati motorbikes which include the Desmo service. Our Ducati service packages in the North West and North Wales include the following servicing options.

Oil Service - every 7500 - 9000 miles - Lubricating efficiency inside the engine is restored and key checks are carried out to ensure optimum efficiency of the bike.

Annual Service - every 12 months - After a season of miles and enjoyment, certain parts of your Ducati that are subject to wear and tear need attention (e.g. brake pads) and your bike needs a check-up to maintain levels of performance.

Desmo Service - every - 15k - 18k miles - The most important operation to check that the bike is in the best working condition, with the engine also undergoing close inspection.

What exactly is Desmo service?

If you're a motorcycle lover, then you're probably aware that Ducati engines all use something called "Desmo," but you might not understand why they use it or what it even is. Desmo is short for desmodromic, and it refers to the way that a poppet valve inside of an engine is controlled. In almost every four-stroke piston engine, the valves are opened via a camshaft and closed by spring pressure which comes from a valve spring. It's a well-known system, it works, and it's pretty simple. That's why it's the dominant system in place today, even in high-strung race cars and bikes, but that wasn't always the case.
