This is why getting your car serviced is so important...

Regularly servicing your car means that you are more likely to have a car that car that runs smoothly and efficiently and minimises the risk of it breaking down and incurring unexpected repair bills. You may think you can save money by not servicing your car, but in reality, a service can pick up smaller issues with parts of the car where standard wear and tear require a little minor maintenance but, when left, can fast become a costly major repair or replacement. There are two types of service for your car, which one you need will depend on your car’s mileage, age and when your previous service was carried out.

Interim service

An interim service includes several checks, parts changes and fluid top-ups. The changes include engine oil and oil filter, in addition wheel nut torque is checked and adjusted where necessary. We will also check and change the tyre pressure and top up the clutch fluid, power steering reservoir, brake fluid level and windscreen washer if required. We will also perform checks on other parts of the car, including tyre tread depth, brake discs and brake pads. If any additional work is required on these parts we’ll get in touch with you before carrying out any additional work to make sure that you are aware of any additional costs that are incurred when carrying out the work.

Full service

A full service includes additional comprehensive checks throughout the vehicle compared to the interim service. In addition to the checks, there are fluid top-ups and changes included. These include the air filter which is replaced based on the mileage and vehicle usage. Additional checks and top-ups include your coolant and antifreeze strength, the gearbox fluid, clutch fluid and axle oil and. All checks and tops-ups depend on your specific vehicle and manufacturer guidelines. We will also check spark plugs during a Full Service and change them based on the mileage and manufacturer specification if required. If the checks during a full service uncover any further work or parts that are required, we will always contact you before doing anything that incurs any additional costs so that you are aware of everything and you have no nasty surprises.
